Jimi Agbaje :“PDP Is My Last Bus Stop”

Lagos governorship aspirant, Jimi Agbaje (pictured) has said that the Peoples Democratic party is his last bus stop

The news that Lagos governorship aspirant, Jimi Agbaje had become a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was met with shock from several quarters and many believed that he had only joined the ruling party to improve his chances of winning the 2015 elections in the state.
However, Mr Agbaje has corrected the notion saying that the PDP is his last bus stop whether he wins the party’s primaries or not.
He disclosed this during an interactive session held over the weekend in Ikeja saying:
“Why will I leave PDP to go where?” “To me as a politician, such a situation makes no sense. People who insinuate that if I don’t win the primaries I will leave the party forget my antecedents. I am not diverting supporters to anywhere.”
“In 2007, I aspired on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). But it was clear that there would be no primaries, so I went to DPA. We did not win the elections. But if I was just party hungry, I would have jumped out into another party. But I remained within the party and sponsored several members who contested in the local government elections.”
“PDP is my last bus stop. My back is to the wall. It is forward ever, backward never,”
He also added that the PDP is the best platform for his aspiration and he is running in the governorship race to win.
Agbaje first contested in 2007 on the platform of theDemocratic Peoples Alliance but lost to the incumbent governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola.
