The fight against Ebola in Liberia has received a boost as China has constructed a 100-bed treatment center in the country’s capital, Monrovia.
The centre was opened on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, in a ceremony presided over by Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
The
centre was reportedly finished within a month and the Asian country has
also deployed 163 medical workers from an elite unit of the China’s
People’s Liberation Army to work in the facility.
The current Ebola outbreak has claimed over 5000 lives but cases of the disease are said to be on the decline in Liberia.
